All these ROMs and flashable zip mods can be easily installed on an Android device with the help of Custom Recovery. At present, there are three popular custom recovery which helps to flash any rom on your mobile. There are CWM, TWRP, and Philz recovery. All these recoveries can be downloaded from its official website and flashed through fastboot mode.

Early Preparations:

Install Flashable Zips using TWRP Recovery

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is most popular when comes to custom recoveries for Android devices. It is a touch-based recovery, so users need not to use hardware buttons while flashing zips or mods. Follow the step by step guide carefully to flash Zip files on your device.

1. Install TWRP recovery on your device. You can download TWRP Recovery image from its official website HERE.

2. Once install, boot your device into TWRP recovery using third party app or use hardware buttons.

3. From main menu, select Install and choose the zip file from your device storage.

4. After selecting zip file, the recovery asks for confirmation. Swipe to confirm the flash. Once done, select Reboot System to boot your device into normal mode.

Note: In case with custom ROMs and Mods, you need to wipe the partitions. To do so, go to Wipe and perform Wipe data, Cache and dalvik cache. Please check these wipes on developer websites where you have found the Zip file.

Install Flashable Zips using CWM Recovery

CWM Recovery comes in two versions – Touch-based, which can be used similar to other apps and non-touch version, where hardware keys like Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power buttons are used. Both Volume Up & Down will be used for navigation while the power button is used for selecting the option. Follow the below steps to flash zips/ mods using CWM Recovery.

1. Download & install CWM Recovery from its official website HERE.

2. Boot your device into CWM Recovery using proper hardware keys combination.

3. From CWM Recovery main menu, select “Install Zip”.

4. In the next screen, you will see list of various options. You need to choose the option according to the location where the Zip file is saved. Confirm the flash.

5. Once done with installing, go back to main menu and select reboot system now.
