Samsung rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for its flagship smartphone and midrange devices which are eligible for the OS update, and now the Galaxy J7 series users are wondering whether their models are eligible for Oreo update or not. The variants of last year’s Galaxy J7 are already in the top of the eligible devices to get Android Oreo update. In fact, Samsung Turkey also included the Galaxy J7 series models in the official software update page which will get the Android 8.1 Oreo update starting from September 2018. Now, the latest reports claims that the update will be rolled out a bit earlier in other regions.
According to the Wi-Fi Alliance certifications, the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update is coming soon to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Neo, which is also launched as the Galaxy J7 Nxt and Galaxy J7 Core in other global markets.
The Wi-Fi certifications suggest Samsung is ready with stable Android Oreo firmwares for these smartphones and might begin pushing the official update soon. There is no exact time frame for the release of Oreo update for the Galaxy J7 series, but we can expect to happen in the next few weeks. To remind you, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Neo, J7 Nxt and J7 Core were launched with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. As we all know, Samsung releases only one major Android OS updates to its midrange and budget devices, the Android Oreo could be the last major update for these devices.
